Description

This image is the sum of 463 60 secs unguided subs, taken on the 1st of October with a Canon 70-200 (200 FL) an Asi 533, an Optolong l-extreme filter on top of an Ioptron Smart Eq. Aquisition with Astroart
Original version has no darks applied - Version b is with 450 darks applied.
Which one is better ? Processing is almost the same: Stacking with DSS, gradient removal and star rounding with Astroart - with PS - curves, levels, layer masks.

In my opinion there is no much difference. Asi has such a clean signal that probably darks are no required.

For all the Asi users, that might be interested in checking by yourself, I have put online the 2 stacked files, and them can be downloaded from the download link.

Resulting image in my opinon is not so nice, due to the filter that is not suitable for imaging galaxies.

The Andromeda Galaxy, also known as Messier 31, M31, or NGC 224 and originally the Andromeda Nebula, is a barred spiral galaxy approximately 2.5 million light-years (770 kiloparsecs) from Earth and the nearest large galaxy to the Milky Way. The galaxy's name stems from the area of Earth's sky in which it appears, the constellation of Andromeda, which itself is named after the Ethiopian (or Phoenician) princess who was the wife of Perseus in Greek mythology. Description: Added to this image 150 60 secs unguided subs with an IDAS LPS2 filter taken on the night of the 10th october - after 2 hours clouds come out - I hope to get soon a clear night to add other 6 or 7 hours with IDAS LPS2 (which is a broadband filter) and see results of combination with L-Extreme which is a narrowband filter
